Tailgate Staple: Jalapeño Poppers
Share
For our first tailgate recipe, we decided to go with a classic favorite: Jalapeño Poppers! Poppers are truly a staple appetizer in the game day world. You’ll want to make plenty of poppers, because these hot little things go fast! We also suggest having water on hand for your fair-weather jalapeño eaters!
This recipe comes from the Graceful Little Honey Bee blog, so check it out below & tag us in your tailgate food pics!
18 fresh medium-sized jalapeños
1 – 8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 green onions, sliced thin
18 slices bacon, cut into halves
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
gloves
toothpicks
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325°F. Wash peppers and remove ends.
Step 2: Wearing gloves, cut peppers in half lengthwise. Remove seeds and white part in the middle.
Step 3: In medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, shredded cheese, green onion, garlic powder and onion powder.
Step 4: Fill peppers with cheese mixture.
Step 5: Wrap bacon around jalapeño (not too tight) and secure with toothpick if desired.
Step 6: Bake jalapeño poppers for 1 hour.
Let cool and ENJOY!
Sydney's pro-tailgater tip: for a fun spin on this tailgate classic, roll the entire jalapeño into a crescent roll then bake!
