Hello friends!! I can’t believe how fast the fall and football season has snuck up on us!! Fall and football is probs my fave time of the year. B and I take football very seriously….from fantasy to college game day to NFL Sundays…we watch it ALL! Football season means A LOT of Sunday Funday time with the fam…which I LOVE! One of myfave parts of Sunday Funday is not only football, but the snacks. I mean, a girl’s gotta eat, right? There are so many fun snacks out there, it’s so hard to choose! I love football related snacks, but I also don’t want to gain a million pounds while eating them! Today I’m bringing you my absolute favorite recipe for game day…Guacamole! Plus, guac is such an easy thing to throw together. My second favorite part of football season is all of the cute, comfy, and sporty clothes to rock! I’m always in search of cute new football clothes options and when I came across LiveLoveGameday , I was super stoked!

Without further ado, let’s talk guac. Probably the easiest yet mouthwatering app to ever grace the Earth, at least in my humble opinion. I just love that there are so many different variations of guac to try and I am always on the hunt to try more. I first tried guac with bacon folded in at my local Mexican restaurant and it was love at first first bite. I mean, come on…avocados AND bacon??? What more could a girl ask for??!! I then set out to craft the perfect guac that would keep my belly full but was still full of fresh, healthy ingredients. I bring to you…

The BEST Guacamole Recipe

4 – 5 avocados, soft and ripe

1 medium purple onion, diced small to medium

1 medium tomato, diced and seeds removed

1 jalapeno, diced small to medium (remove seeds if you like it less spicy)

1 bunch green onions, diced

Juice of 1 medium lime

2 tbsp of fresh lemon juice

Coarse Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt to taste

1-2 fresh minced garlic cloves to taste

4 – 5 strips of bacon (yes, I said it…BACON) *for Paleo folks, I use Niman Ranch

Instructions

1. Cut each of the avocados lengthwise and use knife to pull out the avocado pits.

2. Scoop out the avocado meat and dice and place in a bowl.

3. Next, add juice of one lime, lemon juice, salt, and garlic cloves.

4. Mash it all up gently with a fork leaving some chunky pieces.

5. Add more salt, garlic, and lime/lemon juice if needed.

6. Then, fold in the remaining ingredients.

7. Serve immediately with Terra Sweet Potato Chips or Trader Joe’s Baked Plaintain Chips.

*Tip: If you aren’t serving the guac immediately, first cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and then with foil. I’ve found that this keeps the bright green color for longer before it turns to yucky brown.
